Practitioner Spotlight: Meet Rebecca Kaye, Vagus Nerve Reset Specialist

Meet Karen Rushbrook – Clinical Counsellor, Psychotherapist & Clinical Supervisor

Helping women move from “wired but tired” to a greater sense of calm, rest and ease

We’re delighted to welcome Rebecca Kaye, founder of Aio Wellness, to the Ease Wellness practitioner community.

Rebecca works primarily with women in midlife and beyond, offering her Vagus Nerve Reset Treatment (VNR) — a nurturing, hands-on treatment designed to support nervous system regulation and help women shift out of the familiar “wired but tired” state and into greater rest, calm and restoration.

A certified life and health coach and restorative yoga teacher, Rebecca brings together bodywork, nervous system support and a broader understanding of the many physical and emotional demands women can experience through midlife.

We sat down with Rebecca to learn a little more about her story, her approach and what clients can expect when working with her at Ease Wellness.

Q&A with Rebecca Kaye

Q: Rebecca, tell us a little about yourself and what led you to this work. I’m the founder of Aio Wellness, based in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. I’m married to Mike and we have three kids and two cavoodles!

My journey into this work really came through my own experience of perimenopause and the health changes I experienced through midlife. There was a period where I felt completely disconnected from my own body.

That eventually led me to learn more about the nervous system and recognise that so much of what I was experiencing wasn’t something I simply needed to push through. My body genuinely needed support.

That personal experience has shaped so much of the work I do today.

Meet Karen Rushbrook – Clinical Counsellor, Psychotherapist & Clinical Supervisor

Q: What services will you be offering at Ease Wellness?

At Ease Wellness, I’ll be offering the Vagus Nerve Reset Treatment (VNR).

It’s a hands-on treatment that works with the nervous system to help the body move away from that “wired but tired”, fight-or-flight state and towards rest and repair.

I trained under nervous system specialist and my mentor, Tracy Whitton.

I’m also a certified life and health coach and restorative yoga teacher, so my approach blends bodywork with a broader understanding of what may be happening in someone’s life.

Q: Who do you particularly love working with?

Women in midlife and beyond — particularly those juggling a lot.

Careers, families, ageing parents, relationships and major life transitions can mean women become so accustomed to putting themselves at the bottom of their own to-do list that they forget what it feels like to be looked after.

I love working with women who are ready to stop constantly pushing through and begin listening to their bodies again.

Happy Client

Q: What can someone expect from their first session with you?

We begin with a real conversation.

Rather than simply filling out a form, I want to understand how your nervous system has been showing up lately and any patterns you may have started noticing.

From there, I use abdominal spiral activation and massage alongside cranial holds along the vagus nerve pathway, creating an environment of warmth, softness and darkness designed to help the body settle and relax.

Many women leave with a sense of calm and ease they haven’t experienced in a long time — and, importantly, a desire to create more of that feeling for themselves.

I also share simple techniques that can be used at home to help manage the build-up of stress and overwhelm and support the nervous system in everyday life.

Q: Why is a holistic approach to health so important to you?

Because you can’t separate the nervous system from the rest of a woman’s life.

Stress isn’t simply “in your head”, nor is it purely physical. It can show up in sleep, digestion, relationships, habits and even your sense of self.

This is something I’ve come to understand gradually through my own wellness journey. It’s about becoming curious about the patterns we don’t always realise we’re running — how we respond to stress, the habits we fall into automatically and the nervous system states that may sit underneath them.

Real change happens when we look at the whole picture rather than addressing one symptom in isolation.

That’s the philosophy behind Aio Wellness — weaving together coaching, bodywork, connection and belonging because our wellbeing doesn’t exist in separate compartments.

Q: What does joining the Ease Wellness community mean to you?

It means being part of a community that genuinely understands this kind of work.

I love being surrounded by practitioners who take the mind-body connection seriously and working within a space designed to help people feel cared for from the moment they walk through the door.

Q: What inspires you outside of your work?

My family, definitely. Watching my kids become independent and discover what they want from life is incredibly rewarding.

I’m also deeply involved with The School for Life Foundation, a charity building and operating schools in rural Uganda. I’ve travelled there myself, and the experience completely shifted my perspective on what really matters and the importance of contributing to something bigger than ourselves.

And honestly, I’m inspired by my friends and the other women in my life doing amazing things in midlife and beyond.

It’s not always easy to start again or try something new at this stage of life — but it’s so worth it.
